HLTAID001 Provides Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Please note it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.
4 hours in the classroom Or
1 hour practical in the classroom with pre-study
Legal, cultural and other issues.
Basic life support.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of a automatic external defibrillator.
Debriefing and welfare.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is every 12 months
Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and written answers.
On successful completion, you will be issued with the nationally recognized Statement of Attainment for HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
