Recreational Marine (Boat) Licence and PWC Endorsement Training


This 4-hour course is designed to assist students understand the Victorian Recreational Boating Safety and Jet Ski/PWC requirements to obtain a Victorian Recreational Marine Licence and/or PWC endorsement.

Approved by Transport Safety Victoria (TSV), the course includes master’s responsibilities, trip preparation, safe boating operations, safety equipment to be carried, on water/road rules, emergency procedures, buoyage system, sound, lighting and distress signals, and more.

A free copy of the Victorian Recreational Boating Safety Handbook, will be provided at the start of the course or  prior from either TSV, VicRoads or can be downloaded Here.

Course fee

  • $120 for both the Boat and PWC endorsement
  • $80 for PWC endorsement only but must already hold the boat license.

Students will be issued with a TSV approved certificate upon successful completion of the course. This must be presented to VicRoads within 12 months of certificate issue date and pay VicRoads 5 years license issue fee to obtain a Victorian Recreational Boat and/or PWC endorsement.
Active Transition Training delivers this course off campus in various locations across Victoria. Courses are run regularly at Altona, Hoppers Crossing, Laverton and Point Cook. On request for groups of six or more we will deliver the course at approved locations.
